On Guard is not only a great oil for protecting your immune system, it is also filled with oils with amazing cleansing properties. I LOVE that doTERRA has created an entire line of home products containing this powerful essential oil blend. My favorite of which: the On Guard cleaner concentrate. I use it as a part of my homemade all purpose cleanser. (Recipe below...)

2. Lemon.

Lemon is an essential oil with amazing cleansing properties. It comes in handy when your littles decide to decorate their dresser with some crayons and stickers, and can get just about any residue off any surface. I call it my all natural magic eraser, without all the yucky chemicals!

Purify is our BFF in the laundry room. We add it to every load of laundry for its cleansing properties + clean scent. We also like to use a couple drops on our wool dryer balls with each load that goes through the dryer. Do you use wool dryer balls!? If not you should, and here's why:

Why Wool Dryer Balls?

+    Decrease drying time, saving you money on utility bills. (Especially helpful in the winter months!)

+    Commercial fabric softeners and dryer sheets are filled with harmful chemicals and perfumes that coat your clothing, eventually ending up on your skin. These chemicals can be especially harsh on sensitive skin. There are no chemicals in wool dryer balls!

+    Commercial dryer sheets can be costly, and are thrown away after use. Wool dryer balls can be re-used for years.

+    Wool dryer balls won’t affect the absorbency of your towels, kitchen cloths, or cloth diapers – commercial softeners will.

+    100% wool dryer balls increase fluffiness and reduce static as dryer loads tumble.

+    Dryer balls help to soften clothes naturally.

+    Dryer balls are made from a renewable resource.

4. Wild Orange.

Wild Orange is the oil that I use interchangeably with Lemon all the time in my cleaning! Wild Orange also contains cleansing properties that make it a wonderful tool in your cleaning cabinet. I also love to diffuse Wild Orange daily to cleanse the air and promote positive feelings and good energy.

5. Melaleuca (Tea Tree)

Melaleuca has some amazing cleansing properties as well. It has high antiseptic, antibacterial, and anti fungal properties that make it the fifth and final must have for my home. I love to add a few drops to my all purpose cleanser blend when deep cleaning grimy places like the bathroom that need a little extra oomph. Not only does it work wonders, it also smells so fresh & clean!

There you have it, my top 5 oils for the home. Do you have any other must have oils on your list!? If so, share in the comments below. I love hearing about how you are using your oils!
